6 Things You Can Do Right Now to Become Instantly More Attractive
Whether you’re firing up a Tinder profile, or you’re trying to kill it in a sales meeting, being attractive helps us get to where we want in life. That is unless you’re Lena Dunham, but let’s assume you’re not. So what can you do right now to become instantly more attractive? Let’s take a look at 6 of my tried and tested favorites.
Force that Smile
Okay, this might seem obvious, but so many people still don’t take this simple trick seriously. When we smile, we emit an air of confidence and positivity. Don’t make the wrong impression or convey the wrong emotions by scowling or staying neutral. Own the room, the conversation and the selfie with a happy, confident smile.
Need help finding something to smile about? Just think about the generally positive outcomes you’ll get by smiling. There ya go! I see that smile starting to emerge. If you need even more motivation, remember that multiple psychological studies report people who smile more, out of habit, are generally happier people.
Clean Up Your Skin
Take the complex out of complexion. If your skin isn’t clear, then you’re putting an image out there that you do not practice good personal hygiene. I know, it’s not fair, but it’s true. Whether it’s a matter of getting out in the sun more and tanning, or using a daily facial cleanser, adopt habits that improve the radiance of your skin. But I don’t know how to maintain my skin?!?! It’s okay, I’ve got you covered. Start by getting rid of those blackheads and acne. Then focus on habits that effect the tone and radiance of your skin with a commitment to get outside and enjoy the sun a little bit more.
Winners Surround Themselves with Winners
Don’t forget that the most successful people in the world started out learning how to be more social and attractive, just like you. If you want to learn how to own a room, or network like a pro, you’ve gotta get out there. Part of that is surrounding yourself with people you admire. If you’re the coolest person among your circle of friends, you’re holding yourself back. Make an effort to connect with people who you think are attractive, smart and socially adept. The more winning you observe, the more opportunities you’ll have to absorb some of their expertise.
Crack a Joke
Work on that sense of humor! Did you know that multiple studies show that men who are funny are instantly more attractive to women? True story! Don’t be afraid to poke fun at a situation. Witty observations don’t have to form the basis for every conversation you have. But always keep your
comedic antennae up and seek out opportunities to insert some levity into the situation. You’ll appear smart and instantly more attractive.
Plus, laughter leads to smiling! (see point 1)
Work Your Social Media
In this hyper connected world of sharing and oversharing, your social media presence has become an increasingly important part of who you are to the world. If that post you made last night doesn’t add value to who you are, or give you a well-rounded appearance, you might want to rethink what you post and comment on. Take time to take amazing photos when you’re out on the town. Show people that you get out there and enjoy life to the fullest. After all, if you didn’t post about it, did it really even happen?
Don’t just copy everyone else. Borrow from others for inspiration. Learn the tools of social fluency from others, but create something that in the end is uniquely you. Being a little different makes you more memorable and appear more confident. So get out there and get your shine on!
